Hooray! Mummy goals complete! I have been promising my little two their bed quilts since my eldest received her “proper” bed quilt (yes, I generally experiment on the kids when making quilts) for her birthday in March. The little two’s birthdays are November and December, so I figured there would be so. much. time. to get theirs done. Well, I got hit with a couple of curve balls so it turned into a bigger challenge than expected, but thanks to a Brisbane MQG retreat mid-year and beautiful friends keeping me sewing, they have received their “proper” bed quilts. Phew!
My middle daughter received a Slice of Cake 2 (pattern by the lovely Barb and Mary of Me and My Sister Designs) in Sew Stitchy (Aneela Hoey for Moda) fabric that I had stashed for eons. The background is grey-on-white sketch by Timeless Treasures.
My littlest received the Vintage quilt (pattern by Camille Roskelley from her book, Simply Retro) in the beautiful Coral, Queen of the Sea (Stacy Iest Hsu for Moda) fabrics. I actually bought enough of this for two quilts – one for Etsy – but I think that was a little optimistic!
My lovely friend QuiltJane quilted both quilts beautifully and the girls are happy little campers. Phew.
On a whim, I also decided to make an advent calendar this year. Another one of those projects that I had bought all the supplies for and then let sit for a year. Using a pattern from my LQS Quilters Corner as a basis, I created a little wall quilt with pockets for treats from Cotton & Steel Tinsel fabric. 🙂 So cute.
And to finish the Christmas theme for another year, I finished this awesome little baby quilt. “Oh Christmas Tree pattern, fabulous quilting and Manderley fabrics by QuiltJane.
