Wild Goose Chase Quilt

Oh, this quilt. It made me work harder than I thought, but I’m so pleased with it. I fell in love with these fabrics (the collection is Sundrops by Corey Yoder for Moda Fabrics) as soon as I saw them. It’s unusual for me to be so enamoured by florals, but I was totally struck by this sweet bundle.

Sundrops

The lovely Keera from Live Love Sew had just released new patterns, and I knew at once that I wanted to make a Wild Goose Chase quilt. I happily chain-stitched away to make the blocks and took them away with me on Brisbane MQG’s winter retreat to decide on the layout and sew together but I just could not get the layout to look right. I ended up making some extra blocks when I came home, jigged them all around again, and yee-ha, it finally looked like it did in my head!

Hooray!

The quilt has been long-arm quilted this cute swirly daisy pattern, which was a nice nod to the florals without being a flowery-overload!

And here she is all finished and ready for her new home. I’ll be pretty sad to see her go. This quilt will be listed on my Etsy shop, or you can contact me directly through my about page.
